In My Mailbox (46)

In My Mailbox was started by Kristi of The Story Siren and inspired by Alea of Pop Culture Junkie. Sadly the only books I order are those that are hard to find. The following books are from the library and bookstores.

Bought:
Author: Alex Archer
Title: Seeker's Curse
Series: Rogue Angel (book 19)
Publication Date: 2009
Synopsis: "Enlisted by the Japan Buddhist Federation to catalog a number of ancient shrines dotted across Nepal, archaeologist Annja Creed is honored to help. Political violence has prompted the Federation to protect holy sites from desecration and vandalism, and Annja is their last hope to properly conserve these sites.

Where there's vandalism, there's plundering, and local police soon become suspicious of Annja's presence. But she is more concerned about the antiques smugglers and Maoist guerrillas trying to kill her. When she must trek high up in the Himalayas to protect a sacred golden Buddha statue from falling into the hands of her pursuers, she's told that the place is cursed—and guarded by demons. And Annja has no choice but to face her demons…."

Library:
Author: Natalie Standiford
Title: How to Say Goodbye in Robot
Publication Date: 2009
Synopsis: "New to town, Beatrice is expecting her new best friend to be one of the girls she meets on the first day. But instead, the alphabet conspires to seat her next to Jonah, aka Ghost Boy, a quiet loner who hasn't made a new friend since third grade. Something about him, though, gets to Bea, and soon they form an unexpected friendship. It's not romance, exactly - but it's definitely love. Still, Bea can't quite dispel Jonah's gloom and doom - and as she finds out his family history, she understands why. Can Bea help Jonah? Or is he destined to vanish?"

Author: Benedict Carey

Title: The Unknowns A Mystery
Publication Date: 2009
Synopsis: "In a trailer park called Adjacent, next to the Folsom Energy Plant, people have started to vanish, and no one seems to care. At first Lady Di and her best friend, Tom Jones, barely notice the disappearances—until their beloved math tutor, Mrs. Clarke, is abducted, too. Mrs. Clarke has left them clues in the form of math equations that lead them all over the trailer park, through hidden tunnels under “Mount Trashmore,” and into the Folsom Energy Plant itself, where Lady Di and Tom Jones and a gang of other misfits uncover the sordid truth about what’s really happening there."

Author: Rhys Bowen
Title: Her Royal Spyness
Series: Lady Georgiana (book 1)
Publication Date: 2007
Synopsis: "Lady Victoria Georgiana Charlotte Eugenie, 34th in line for the throne, is flat broke. She's bolted Scotland, her greedy brother, and her fish-faced betrothed for London. The place where she'll experience freedom, learn life lessons aplenty, do a bit of spying for HRH—oh, and find a dead Frenchman in her tub. Now her new job is to clear her long family name."

This week I have picked up a bunch of books that I have never read before and am truly excited to read. But the book I'm really excited about getting is Seeker's Curse, which is the 19th book in the Rogue Angel series. I  picked How to Say Goodbye in Robot and The Unknowns simply because they sounded like interesting reads. I just hope they're as good as they sound.
Sorry about the lack of posts this past week, I've been super busy brainstorming on my pet project.... *gasp* I've decided to try my hand at writing a book. Wish me luck, because I'm going to need all the luck I can get to get it started. :)
Hope y'all have a great week.
